A leading independent recruiter is confident of filling permanent and temporary job roles despite the uncertainty and political turmoil surrounding Brexit
HR GO Recruitment, a family-owned business with offices across the UK, has been placing permanent and temporary staff for more than 60 years.
It is part of the HR GO plc group that is well placed to satisfy most recruitment needs because its family of companies covers a wide spectrum of industry specialisms.
Group companies include the long-established joint venture RHL which places skilled and senior personnel in a wide range of sectors such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, consumer healthcare, manufacturing, renewables, oil and gas and engineering, HR GO Driving serves the logistics industry.
Cindy Hare, managing director of HR GO Recruitment, said the business was well aware of skills scarcity that might worsen with EU talent in shorter supply. But it was highly experienced in finding people with the appropriate skills in the most challenging of times.
“We know that some clients are anxious about recruitment in these uncertain times but we have a lot of experience placing people in challenging markets and conditions,” she said.
Some sectors such as farming, horticulture and construction, health and social care, rely extensively on talented people coming from other parts of the European Union.
Surveys suggest that the number of EU workers has declined since the referendum two years ago and HR Recruitment is working hard to replace EU talent with skilled UK workers and those from countries outside the EU.
HR GO Recruitment has adopted new principles of talent search, Cindy said. “We think of ourselves as employment consultants, helping clients to examine job roles, salary levels and benefits. This is how clients enhance their appeal to potential overseas candidates.
“We work closely with clients and candidates to ensure a good match of talent and jobs. We have more than 3,000 temporary workers on our books and aim to increase this number to help our clients satisfy their recruitment needs.”
Brexit could be good news for UK workers with skills and talent. Employers are likely to be keen to invest more in training existing staff to take on new roles. HR GO Recruitment has always worked closely with clients and this becomes ever more important in a challenging recruitment market.
With clients potentially finding it harder to acquire the talent they need, HR GO Recruitment has taken steps to ensure their requirements are fully met.
“We know talent is there but recognise the importance of excellent performance, close partnership and efficient data application to find it,” said Cindy. “Where there are skills gaps, we use technology to identify candidates and new opportunities for them. We review skills that on the face of it might not be appropriate to a certain role but look beyond that to consider how those skills might be suitable for other roles.”
Jack Parkinson, HR GO plc group chairman, added: “There is a lot of understandable worry and uncertainty about Brexit. But it’s important to stay calm and for the Government to ensure business stability. For most of our clients and candidates, it’s business as usual. HR GO plc is well placed to satisfy most recruitment needs because of our wide spread of companies and industry specialisms.
“The UK has a large, vibrant economy and we at HR GO are optimistic that with our knowledge, expertise and advice, employers will meet their job targets for permanent and temporary workers. With our network of outlets across the UK, we are well placed to find the right people for clients and the right job for candidates.”
