About the role:
The MDG Lead will play a critical role within the ERP Platforms team, overseeing master data governance across global operations and driving improvements in data quality, process efficiency, and governance standards. This role will be instrumental in restructuring and enhancing current master data processes, particularly through the rollout of SAP MDG as the central master data system. In addition, the MDG Lead will act as the primary owner of master data processes, collaborating across functions and managing a team focused on ensuring consistent and compliant master data across systems.
Key Responsibilities

- Master Data Process Ownership: Act as the owner of all master data governance processes, overseeing data quality initiatives, and working to enhance standards to meet regulatory requirements.
- Process Redesign & Efficiency: Lead initiatives to restructure and streamline master data processes, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Data Quality & Governance Enforcement: Implement data governance frameworks, standards, and validation checks to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and high quality.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Heads of Functions, Senior Leaders, IT Demand Management, and Project Management teams to align master data governance with business objectives.
- Project Involvement: Participate in SAP MDG rollouts and other critical IT projects, supporting system integration, testing, and validation activities as the subject matter expert on master data.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and develop a growing team of master data governance experts, providing guidance on process improvements and data management best practices.
- Service Delivery & Performance: Monitor performance through SLA adherence in ticket management, prioritizing requests, and ensuring efficient resolution of master data issues.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a master data management or IT leadership role, with expertise in SAP MDG and master data governance.
- SAP Expertise: Advanced understanding of SAP MDG, S/4HANA, ECC, and PLM modules, particularly with multi-company, multi-currency configurations in consumer products or manufacturing environments.
- Cross-Functional Knowledge: Expertise in additional SAP modules is advantageous, including Production Planning, Quality Management, Warehouse Management, and more.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills and familiarity with structured development methodologies.
- Soft Skills: Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Language: Fluency in English; German or French is a plus.
- Flexibility: Adaptability to learn new systems and potential for occasional travel.
